SRINAGAR: PM stated that J&K’s future hinges on this election. He condemned foreign interference, dynastic politics, and lack of new leadership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday, stated that dynastic politics have devastated the region, focusing only on promoting their own families. He mentioned that the BJP government is fostering young leadership, encouraging individuals who will challenge the dynasts in J&K in the future.
Previously, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged voters in the Jammu region to support the BJP, emphasizing that this would ensure the voice of Jammu is not suppressed by other forces in Kashmir.

Modi remarked, “This election in Jammu and Kashmir will determine the state’s future. Since independence, J&K has been targeted by foreign powers. Following that, dynastic politics (‘pariwarwad’) began eroding this beautiful state. The political parties you trusted did not care about your children; they only advanced their own. The youth of J&K have suffered from terrorism while these parties enjoyed misleading you. They never allowed new leaders to emerge anywhere in J&K. You know that panchayat elections haven’t been held here since 2000.”

Modi expressed his desire for every child in Jammu and Kashmir to have access to quality education. He noted that in recent years, the BJP government has inaugurated numerous schools and colleges in the state to benefit the youth, as reported by ANI. On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress party for allying with the National Conference (NC) in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. He claimed both parties aim to revert J&K to the “dark old days of despondency” by reinstating Article 370 and bringing back separate flags in the valley.

“They (NC-Congress) are proposing to reintroduce a separate flag and restore Article 370,” Shah said in an interview with Daily Excelsior. “It is an unforgivable sin for Congress and the National Conference to make such blatant attempts to drag Jammu and Kashmir back to the dark old days with these regressive agendas,” he added.
