Are the IPL owners jinxed? From the founder of the game, Lalit Modi, to the arrest of team owners like Sahara Shree, and Venkattram Reddy. Others like Mohit Burman, Preity Zinta, Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have been quizzed by the ED or the CBI. And even those who flirted with ownership, like Shashi Tharoor have had their share of brush with the authorities. Vijay Mallya is the latest addition to the list. However when asked about this in an interview by NewsX, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur decried this theory saying, “Do not blame the game for acts of individuals.” But he did have one word of caution for the team owners.. “khel ko khel rehne de, khel se mat khelen (they should let the game remain a sport and should not play any games with the game).” That, as they say in cricketing terms, is a googly.

Elevation for Poonam Mahajan?

Is late Pramod Mahajan’s daughter tipped for an elevation? According to party sources, she may be made the chief of the party’s youth wing. She seems to have impressed her party seniors with her quiet determination and while she lacks her father’s flamboyance she does have a flair of his oratorial skills. And so, when party president Amit Shah reshuffles his pack post the next round of Assembly elections, Mahajan may be deputed to look after the youth wing of the party.
