NEW DELHI: Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan, commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his dedication to student welfare through the ongoing ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ initiative.
Pradhan highlighted that, despite his numerous responsibilities in driving the country’s progress, PM Modi continues to prioritize addressing exam-related stress among young students. Speaking to the media, Pradhan expressed his gratitude, stating, “It is no trivial matter that, alongside his extensive work for national development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains deeply concerned about the mental well-being of students during exams. On behalf of the Education Ministry and all parents, I extend my heartfelt thanks to him.”
This year’s edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ introduced a new component featuring well-known social experts. Pradhan elaborated, “Seven distinguished social experts participated this time, discussing mental health, concentration, and related issues. Each of these topics will be addressed in separate episodes, with a total of eight telecasts serving as a guide for students.” According to the Minister, these episodes are carefully curated to offer students essential guidance, equipping them with strategies to maintain their mental well-being and focus effectively during the exam period.
During his engagement with students in the 8th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha,’ PM Modi encouraged them to view failures as valuable learning experiences. He underscored the importance of technology, advising students to not only embrace it but also make the most of its potential.
“A student’s journey does not end if they fail an exam. The key question is whether one aspires to succeed in life or merely in academics,” PM Modi remarked. “Failures should be seen as teachers. You are fortunate to be growing up in an era shaped by technological advancements. Our primary focus should be on understanding technology and utilizing it optimally,” he added.
PM Modi also stressed the necessity of holistic development, emphasizing that education should not be limited to textbooks alone. “Students are not machines. The purpose of education is holistic growth, not mere rote learning,” he explained. “Students cannot flourish if they are restricted to books alone. Engaging in their favorite activities is essential for achieving success in exams. The mindset that exams define everything must be abandoned. While acquiring knowledge is important, one must not equate it solely with examinations. Developing a habit of writing is equally crucial,” the Prime Minister asserted.
Furthermore, he advocated for allowing children the freedom to explore their interests without constraints. “Students should not be confined to rigid academic structures. They need the liberty to pursue their passions. Knowledge and examinations serve different purposes,” PM Modi concluded.
