The single window clearance system and healthy incentives are bringing new investors to Jammu and Kashmir and have encouraged the administration to participate in the 9th India International MSME Expo and Summit 2023 in New Delhi.
During his address in the Expo and Summit, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that women in Jammu and Kashmir are bringing a silent revolution by becoming entrepreneurs. He said that 74,000 SMEs are being run by women in Jammu and Kashmir and it is encouraging other women to become entrepreneurs.
He invited industry leaders and potential investors to invest in Jammu & Kashmir. The new industrial development policy offers greater incentives, support for expansion and opportunity to explore emerging possibilities in Tourism, Information Technology Enabled Services, Agriculture & Allied Sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. Recently, the J&K administration took a path-breaking decision for the promotion of Micro & Small enterprises. The J&K administration has decided to increase the total procurement of Government Departments and Public Sector Undertakings from MSMEs to 25% in order to promote their business. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently launched the One District One Product (ODOP) Box of J&K UT. He said that all the districts of J&K are being developed as export hubs and efforts are being made to take the One District One Product Box launched to the global market. Over 40 exhibitors, supported by JKTPO, are participating in the 9th India International MSME Expo & Summit 2023.
