Seema Kashyap
Delhi-based designer Seema Kashyap showcased her collection for her brand The Front Row at the India Fashion Week London. Inspired from a line of a poem by Lord Byron about an unnamed woman, the collection was entitled “She walks in beauty”. The collection is in dark hues and gives an impression of a starry night. The collection is a stunning amalgamation of silk, soft and drapey tulle and lace complemented by sequined and thread work embellishment. Bhavyata Sharma, Miss India Elite 2014 dazzled the runway for Kashyap.
Sweta Parekh
Odisha-based designer Sweta Parekh who is popular for her fashion studio ‘Dolliz Kasba’ showcased her Pattachitra design inspired outfits at the renowned fashion week. Bollywood celebrity Prachi Desai was the showstopper for Parekh. The collection curated Pattachitra dresses with peacock’s feather design in a tint of white and blue, which complimented the dress. Beautiful long dresses with cape and Matka silk gown were the major highlights of the collection. The collection also displayed saree, kurti, ghagra, choli, men’s shirt, and sherwani.
Naorem Robert
Naorem Robert who is a Manipur-based designer participated at the India Fashion Week. He showcased his beautiful collection of fabrics and cloth design based on Meetei, Kuki, Tangkhul and Kabui (tribes of Manipur). He showed his imagination, creativity and valour in presenting a beautiful amalgamation of culture and harmony of his hometown. The collection takes its inspiration from traditional Pena music. Beautiful bright colours like pink, red and blue are majorly used in the collection. Separates in contrast colours give an edge and grace to the garments.
