CHANDIGARH: With a meeting between farmer union leaders and senior officials from Haryana remained inconclusive as both sides refused to budge from their positions, now farmer leaders have called a meeting of farmer union leaders on Monday to decide further strategy.

As per the farmer leaders the closed door meeting was attended by Ambala Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta, Ambala Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria and Patiala SSP Nanak Singh.

However both the sides could not reach a consensus as farmers were adamant to cross Shambhu borders and reach Delhi, while Haryana police and Ambala district administration made it clear that they cannot allow them to enter Haryana and start the Delhi March until they show a permission from Delhi police to hold a protest in the nation capital. Meanwhile, the officials from Ambala district administration has assured the farmers that they will try to reach out the government to resume talks.

Even, the Haryana officials also proposed restoring normal traffic on the highways if the farmers lifted their blockade, but the farmers rejected this offer saying that they have not blocked any road and the Haryana police should lift the blockade allowing the farmers to proceed towards Delhi.

The farmers also demandes a written assurances from the Haryana government to fulfill their long-pending demands. Farmer leader Sarvan Singh Pandher has made it clear that their agitation has completed 300 days and they are left with no other way either the government accept their demands or the Haryana authorities allow them to reach Delhi.

It is learnt that the farmer leaders during the meeting also slammed Haryana police for firing tear gas shells on farmers.

The officials hinted that they may hold another meeting with the farmer leaders soon and efforts being made so that the talks between farmers and union government could be resumed.
