Bomb Threat Emails Spark Panic in Noida Schools, Police Confirm Hoax

TSG On WeekdaysBomb Threat Emails Spark Panic in Noida Schools, Police Confirm Hoax

Several schools in Noida experienced a wave of panic on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, after receiving bomb threat emails. However, Noida Police later confirmed that these threats were hoaxes. The affected schools included Step By Step School, The Heritage School Noida, Gyanshree School, and Mayoor School. Upon hearing about the threats, concerned parents rushed to these institutions to retrieve their children, but authorities assured them that there was no real danger and that the situation was under control.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Noida, Ram Badan Singh, informed The Sunday Guardian that the police received reports about the threats on the emergency helpline number on Wednesday morning. He stated, “Four schools—Step By Step, The Heritage, Gyanshree, and Mayoor—received bomb threat emails.”

Following this, law enforcement officials, including firefighters, a bomb detection squad, and a dog squad, were immediately dispatched to the schools to conduct thorough inspections. After extensive searches, authorities confirmed that the emails were hoaxes, and no suspicious objects were found on any of the school premises. While three of the four affected schools resumed regular activities after the investigation, Mayoor School decided to declare a holiday as a precautionary measure.

DCP Singh further mentioned that the cybercrime branch has been assigned to track down the source of the threatening emails, though an official case has not yet been registered.

This incident follows a pattern of similar hoax threats in the past. Last year, on December 20, a private school in Noida’s Sector 126 received a bomb threat email, while another school in Greater Noida faced the same situation on December 17. More recently, on January 8, approximately 23 schools in Delhi received bomb threats via email, causing widespread panic and temporary closures before authorities confirmed them as false alarms. Officials continue to investigate these incidents and have urged the public to remain calm while they work to identify those responsible.
